The Grier Grant
Inspiring Creativity, One Artist at a Time
The Grier Grant is a $1,000 award dedicated to supporting a passionate artist as they take the next step in their creative journey through further education. Whether studying fine arts, graphic design, illustration, music, dance or fabric arts, this grant is meant to celebrate potential, encourage exploration, and ease the cost of continued artistic growth. Created in the spirit of fostering young talent, the Grier Grant honors those who see the world a little differently—and express it beautifully.
Eligibility:

Age 16 years or older

Resident of Yamhill County, Oregon

Pursuing further education, internship, or apprenticeship in an art-related program

Demonstrated dedication to creative work
Use of Funds:
The $1,000 may be used for tuition, supplies, software, travel, or any approved expense that supports the recipient’s artistic goals.
How to Apply:
Applicants will submit:

A personal statement (1,000 words or less) that describes their artistic background, proposed next steps, long-term goals, the importance of art in their lives and how they will use the awarded funds.

a portfolio of 5-10 samples of work

Proof of enrollment, acceptance, or participation in an art-related educational program, internship, or apprenticeship.
Application deadline is August 31st, 2026. Grant recipient will be notified in September, 2026.
